Truck drivers may not be as safe if they sleep during the day

Safety advocates have been concerned with the amount of sleep commercial truck drivers have been getting. Previous studies have reported that many commercial trucking accidents have been caused by unsafe commercial drivers, many who did not get enough sleep before getting behind the wheel.

Do electric cars need to make a noise to protect pedestrians?

Pedestrian safety has been a concern for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. To address those concerns, they issued requirements in the Pedestrian Safety Enhancement Act of 2010 to help increase pedestrian safety.

Drowsy driving more common in Texas

A new study found that one in 24 drivers in the U.S. admitted to falling asleep while driving, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Health officials say that the number is probably much higher since many drivers are not aware that they have nodded off for a few seconds while driving.
