Texas man hit and killed in tragic bicycle accident

The family of a man in Texas is now living without their loved one due to events that ultimately resulted in his death. A teenager is believed to be responsible for causing the bicycle accident that killed this individual. In the aftermath, the victim's family may be entitled to pursue wrongful death and survival actions in civil court in order to seek compensation for any recoverable losses.

According to a recent report, a 54-year-old male, out for a bike ride, died not long after he was struck by an automobile. The victim supposedly became stuck in the driver's windshield, but witnesses claim that this individual continued to drive for approximately another mile before stopping. The victim was transported to a medical facility for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver deemed responsible for this incident is a 19-year-old male. He was arrested and has been charged with causing a fatal accident. This individual is supposedly being held by authorities; however, bail has been set at $25,000.

This bicycle accident has, without a doubt, been a nightmare for the victim's loved ones. Losing someone in such an awful and unexpected way would, understandably, be difficult for anyone. Along with seeking justice through criminal proceedings, surviving family members may pursue civil actions in an effort to obtain compensation for the numerous losses they may have suffered as a result of this terrible tragedy. If negligence can be satisfactorily established against the accused and/or the owner of the vehicle -- if different -- in a Texas civil court, damages for any documented losses may be awarded.
