Many Texas residents are devoted to their hobbies. Unfortunately, some of those hobbies can come with a steep price. While there may be nothing that appeals to some like the open roads for bikers, a motorcycle accident often turns that appeal to tragedy.
Recently, a family suffered the loss of a loved one when a tragic crash claimed the life of the male rider. The wreck occurred along a stretch of FM 1960 on an early weekday morning. Authorities reported that the accident was caused when a driver of a minivan turned into the path of the motorcyclist. The bike then collided with the van on its passenger side.
The accident occurred around 6 a.m. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene. The victim was taken for medical care to a nearby facility. Unfortunately, his injuries were too severe and he was pronounced deceased approximately two hours after the wreck.
Texas officials have not completed analysis of the crash scene and have not indicated whether the driver of the van will face charges. These tragic accidents are often avoidable and the costs in lives is devastating to victims' families -- both emotionally and monetarily. The family of this motorcycle accident victim has the right to consult with an attorney regarding the possibility of filing a wrongful death civil suit against the driver believed responsible for their tragic loss. While doing so will not make up for their emotional suffering, a monetary judgment may at least ensure that they recover financial damages related to this seemingly senseless tragedy.
