Traveling the Texas freeways always demands the greatest attention in order to avoid causing any harm to fellow motorists. Unfortunately, not every driver exercises the same focus on the task at hand, and inattention could result in a horrifying car accident. Recently, officials responded to the scene of a tragic wreck that took the life of one woman.
Texas police arrived on the scene of the crash to discover that the driver of the vehicle believed to have caused the wreck had fled the scene on foot. The accident was caused when the 19-year-old driver of the first vehicle ran into the rear of the victim's car. That impact sent her car into a support structure for an overpass. Her vehicle then flipped before coming to rest along the side of the highway. The collision resulted in the car being crushed.
Emergency responders had to extricate the victim from the car and pronounced her deceased on the scene. Officers used information obtained from the first car to locate the residence for the suspected driver. Once the authorities located the teenager, she admitted that she was driving the car. She did not offer an explanation as to what lead to the fatal wreck.
Texas police arrested the woman for charges relating to the car accident, and she currently remains in police custody. The victim's family are likely devastated by the sudden and tragic loss of their loved one. Families in these situations may not only have to face the physical loss of their family member but may also have sustained significant monetary losses. These families may elect to pursue a wrongful death claim against the parties deemed responsible for their losses in order to seek compensation for the documented financial damages that resulted from the fatal wreck.
