Possible auto defect after fatal wreck

It's not uncommon for vehicles to experience safety recalls. Many times, these defects are minor and are repaired quickly before an accident occurs. Unfortunately, the families of two Texas college students are grieving after an alleged auto defect took their lives in mysterious car accident.

After renting a 2016 Chevy Cruz, the students were on their way to a conference when the car suddenly accelerated at a high speed causing the car to veer off the roadway killing both students. Investigations into the wreck determined that the driver was not impaired, distracted, or driving recklessly. A lawsuit has been filed against General Motors by the family for the unexpected and possibly preventable deaths of their loved ones due to the known auto-defect.

Throughout the investigation, knowledge of three other instances of the same model vehicle accelerating uncontrollably were discussed. It was still unclear whether GMC had any knowledge of the defect or was aware of the allegations. If the allegations are confirmed, the family may be eligible to receive claims to help cover any cost related to funeral expenses or medical bills.

Every day, as drivers get behind the wheels of their automobiles, they expect the vehicles to be fully capable of road's demands. Texas residents who have been injured in accidents due to an auto defect may benefit from the knowledge of legal counsel to determine who was ultimately at fault and to make sure they are compensated for their losses. Taking the proper legal action can improve the chances of receiving compensation for any suffered injuries.
