Car accident kills a young man about to start his senior year

A new school year is under way in Texas. With the opening of school comes an increase in morning traffic. Increases in traffic can lead to increased stress in drivers that can in turn lead to incidents attributed to road rage or hazardous driving. A recent fatal car accident may have resulted from a road rage incident.

First day of school marred by a fatal accident

Summer is winding down in Texas, and schools are opening for the new school year. Parents are once again dropping off children at school, sending them off with a kiss and a wish for a good day and a good year. It is not a scene that one imagines interrupted by a heroic act and a fatal accident. Yet this was the scene in an El Paso school parking lot on the first day of the new school year.

Death from a fire prompts a wrongful death suit

Waking up to the smell of smoke and the sound of flames can be very unsettling and even terrifying. Such was the case in San Marcos, Texas, where an apartment complex caught fire early one morning in July. While smoke alarms and sprinklers can alert and wake residents of a structure that is on fire and allow them time to get out, this did not appear to happen in this instance. Five people perished in the fire, and a wrongful death suit is being brought by the parents of one of the victims.

Jury awards victim precedent-setting award for truck accident

Sharing the Texas highways with large commercial vehicles can often be a nerve-wracking experience -- even for experienced motorists. Unfortunately, regardless of the precautions one may take to drive defensively, a serious truck accident can result in a victim suffering devastating injuries. Recently, a jury awarded one victim a precedent-setting amount in compensation for his multiple injuries.
